Content added to a shared home may be visible to other members of that home.
Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase Koti Plus or make an in-app purchase, we may receive information related to your purchase, subscription status, renewal status, expiration date, product identifier, store platform, and entitlement status.
Payments are processed by Apple, Google, or another app store/payment provider. We do not receive your full payment card details.
We may use a subscription management provider, such as RevenueCat, to validate purchases, manage entitlements, process restores, and keep subscription status in sync.
Device and Technical Information
We may collect technical information needed to operate and secure the App, such as:

- Operating system
- App version

5. Shared Homes and Visibility
Koti is built around shared homes.
When you join or create a home, other members of that home may see information associated with that home, such as:
- Your display name
- Shared tasks
- Shared shopping items
- Shared events
- Shared notes
- Completion status
- Join requests and member actions, depending on role
Do not add information to a shared home unless you are comfortable sharing it with the other members of that home.
6. Encryption and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.
Some content fields may be encrypted before or while stored, such as notes, invite/request codes, or other sensitive text fields. Some metadata must remain readable by the system so Koti can work properly.
For example, dates, completion status, home membership, roles, and other structural information may remain unencrypted so the App can show Today, This Week, Later, reminders, permissions, and shared home views.
Encryption helps protect data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Invite Links and Request Codes
Koti may use invite links and request codes to help people join homes.
Invite links may be time-limited and may allow automatic joining. Request codes may create a join request that requires approval.
We may store invite and request data in a protected form, including encrypted values and/or lookup hashes, to help prevent unauthorized access.
You should share invite links and request codes only with people you trust.
8. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services to provide Koti. These services may process information on our behalf.
Current or planned service providers may include:
- Supabase, for authentication, database, storage, serverless functions, and app backend infrastructure
- RevenueCat, for in-app purchase and subscription management
- Apple App Store, for iOS purchases and subscriptions
- Google Play, for Android purchases and subscriptions
- Crash reporting or analytics providers, if enabled in the future
These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Payments and Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Koti Plus through Apple or Google, your payment is handled by the relevant app store.
We may receive subscription status information, such as whether your subscription is active, cancelled, expired, refunded, renewed, or in a trial period.
We use this information to provide or remove access to Koti Plus features.
We do not receive your full credit card number or payment card details from Apple or Google.
10. Analytics and Diagnostics
We may use analytics or diagnostics to understand app performance and improve Koti.
If used, analytics should be limited to product and reliability purposes, such as understanding which features are used, detecting errors, and improving the App experience.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use your shared home content for third-party advertising.

If Koti offers reminders or push notifications, we may use notification tokens and reminder settings to send alerts about tasks, events, invitations, join requests, or other App activity.
You can control push notification permissions through your device settings.
Some reminders may require dates, times, task status, event status, or notification settings to be processed.
12. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Koti, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our agreements.
Some data may be retained until you delete it, leave a home, delete a home, or delete your account.
Some older operational data may be deleted automatically, such as old completed shopping items, expired invite links, or very old past events, depending on the App’s current retention settings.
Backups and logs may retain data for a limited time after deletion.

Deleting your account may remove your account information. However, because Koti includes shared homes, some content you created inside a shared home may remain visible to other home members unless the content or home is deleted.
